The Lord has more than you expect!
Dear Friends:
We hope each one of you are well, and enjoying the summer months. It
has been chilly lately here, temps in the mid-sixties, but we've had
a few spells of sunny weather, and this weekend it supposedly is
warming up to mid-seventies! Here, they literally "make hay while the
sun shines." The hay has been cut and picked up in the field next
door, and farmers are busy at work everywhere.

The process of bringing in the hay is an encouragement to us to keep
on praying for the harvest that the Lord is preparing. So with joy we
continue watching and waiting and expecting in faith, along with
countless others around Wales and the world!

We are constantly finding ourselves blessed by God's assurance that
His hand is on our lives. Not only in physical signs like those
pictured here, but through the His word, like Psalm 46:10 that I
quoted in my last update, and in our times of prayer and worship.
Also he uses people! We received a visit by a precious father and son
team from England. They are quite prophetic, and regularly are sent
around the U.K. and other nations on prophetic missions, delivering
words they have received, etc. Several months ago they got in touch
with me after having seen our web page. They watched the video more
than once and were really touched by the Lord. And so two weeks ago
they stopped by our house in Beulah.
After sharing our lunch with them, they told me a good bit about
their mission, and that the Lord had told them to come and pray for
us and encourage us in what we're doing here. As they prayed, the
Lord gave us a word that He has prepared us for greater things than
we can even imagine, and to just continue faithfully in what we're
doing! Isn't that awesome? So we weep from His goodness, and pray on!
Then just Tuesday we were at a special prayer meeting, and the
brother who ministered the Communion gave a personal blessing to each
participant. He told me that in the morning the Lord gave him a word
for us, "The Lord has far more in store than you expect!" Short and
sweet, as they say, and overwhelmingly significant.
So we are greatly encouraged, and hope to encourage you in your
prayers and your faith as well!
And thank you again for your prayers for our intercessory mission
here in Wales. They are of greater importance and impact than you
might think!
In His love and service,
Dick & Gladys Funnell

The Fragrance of the Harvest . .
Dear Friends:
I was just now standing by the gate at the top of the chapel
cemetery, looking out over the adjoining wheat field that slopes
gently uphill from there. This is one of our many favorite places to
come and pray. As I stood watching the farmer who was spraying the
field, there was a brisk wind blowing down and across from the right,
where the hedge runs alongside the lane going down to the chapel.

After a few minutes I was suddenly aware of a sweet and gentle
fragrance that the wind carried with it, delicate and delightful.
Sniffing in the air to better discern the fragrance, my eyes filled
with tears as the Lord began to speak to me once again about the
coming revival harvest. My spirit was caught up in this joyful
expectation and fresh assurance of His glorious promises.
As the breeze continued to sweep over me, the fragrance was coming
and going and changing intensity with the shifting of the wind. I
could only weep and rejoice as the foretaste of revival filled my
heart, and thank and glorify the Lord for what He is doing and what
He is yet to do around the earth today.
In these special times, it's as if His promises from the Word, and
words and visions I've received over the years all join into a
clamoring chorus of things hoped for. There is mounting evidence
throughout His body from around the globe that we are in preparations
for a mighty move of God. And as the eyes and ears of our heart and
spirit are opened to perceive it, there is a resulting symphony of
unvoiced praise for things not yet seen. The taste of revival . . . .
As I continued there at the gate, waiting and praying, my eyes were
drawn to the wheat itself. Each plant has thrust up the reddish brown
tassel tips atop the appearing heads of grain. Earlier we only see
the color of the long fibers, but now we can see the the developing
grains clustered around the shaft.
The planting is in full growth mode now. The harvest will be ready
before long. There is much to do in preparation!
Thank you for praying with us. And know that we are praying the Lord
show you the ripening harvest where you are also!
Many blessings in His wonderful love,
Dick & Gladys Funnell

Dear Friends and Prayers:
Frequently at the chapel we bring our instruments to play and worship, Gladys plays guitar and I the harmonica. One day last week we were singing Spanish worship songs, and one in particular suddenly broke into a place in my heart with great power. I don't know if this exists in English, in Spanish it is "Venimos ante ti Señor, con corazones sinceros, llenos de alabanza y adoración. Porque eres Rey de reyes, y Señor de señores, y eres digno, de que todos te adoren."
Translated it says, "We come before you Lord, with sincere hearts, filled with praises, and worship. Because you are King of kings, and Lord of lords, and You are so worthy, that all should adore Thee!"
As we sang this, I was suddenly made aware of the power of these last words as intercessory supplication. It is like spiritual dynamite! I was quite broken as my heart filled with an intense longing for the time when "... at the name of Jesus every knee will bow ... and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord..." With each time we sang through it, the longing became deeper and more intense. After a while when we had "prayed through", I saw how much we were praying in agreement with Romans 8:22 where it says that "the whole of creation groans and travails in pain together..."  And so we unite our hearts in this universal travail for the presence of God to be made manifest on the earth today.
A while later, I was reading Psalms out loud from the pulpit, and the words of Psalm 67 leapt into agreement with what we had just been praying:
67:1  God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
2 That your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy! for You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Selah.
5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.
6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
As so we continue to pray, and would like to encourage you to do so also along these same lines. Let's pray that all peoples should give Him due praise and worship. And as we pray, we can have perfect confidence in knowing the outcome as stated in Psalm 46:
46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Many blessing to each one of you, and thank you for your continued prayers and support.
	In His great love,

Dick & Gladys Funnell

 Beloved Friends and Prayers:
Since I last wrote we have some good news that I'd like to pass
along so you can be thankful with us. Also we would like to thank you
as well for your prayers for us, knowing they have contributed to
bringing these things about!
Our daughter Grace has finally been accepted into Tulane School of
Public Health in New Orleans! She called about two weeks ago, and
said in a tearful and tremulous voice, "Hey Papa guess what?" My
first thought was that something terrible had happened, but she
immediately followed it with, "I got accepted at Tulane!" We wept
tears of gratitude together, as this was a huge answer to much
prayer. She had been seeking acceptance for over a year to no avail.
So the Lord has truly been taking care of our children just as he
promised before we left a year ago.

Our two sons Michael and Dicky are working together in Louisiana for
the summer, and that is a great blessing to us that they can spend
the time with each other in the workplace. Mike is happy because at
last his work is using his computer skills and that he studied for.
His major in drafting and design has helped him learn a high end
mapping software program which he is using in the petroleum industry
for drilling and mineral rights. Dicky has been working for the same
business but with graphics software, and got Michael involved. Both
of them are very well paid, and we are seeing again how the Lord has
provided according to His promise!

Our oldest son Pete, in his 4th year with the U.S. Marine Corps in
San Diego's Recruit Training Depot, has been offered a career change
with his re-enlistment. He has been doing a purely administrative
role as a supply clerk, but has been recommended for a change to a
personnel career advisor, of which there are very few in the Corps.
His focus will be on helping younger soldiers choose careers that
will give them the most personal satisfaction and fulfillment, and we
are thrilled at the chance he will have to actually get involved in
others' lives and learn to take an interest in people. That is a
welcome change after so many years of computers, video games and books!
  Pete
Last but not least, our visa has been renewed for another year. I
was hoping to get it for another three years, which the law permits,
but it didn't happen. This way they get to charge the fee three
times! At US$625 a year, they can help finance the immigration
fiascos you may have read about in the news. At least they didn't
lose our passports, and Gladys visa is now in her U.S. Passport,
which is a blessing!
There's much more to tell, but suffice it to say the Lord is so
faithful each and every day that we could write emails and more
emails about His wonderous grace!
Much love and many blessings to each one of you, and thank you again
for your support and prayers for us and our children too!
