Arthur Burt goes home to Glory!

arthuringlory.jpgDear Friends of Wales Awakening:

This is just a note to let you know that Thursday evening 102 year-old Arthur Burt  of Penmaenmawr, North Wales, went home to be with Jesus! He had served The Lord since his teens. What a long and fruitful life!

The story of a word received by Arthur and others in 1930, "There shall come a breath...." circulated widely after Bob Jones passing on last January, because Bob had said Arthur would see this great coming revival before he died. Along with others, I think he did see the beginnings, but perhaps it was not what he had expected or hoped to see.

Here is the word:
"THERE SHALL COME A BREATH AND THE BREATH SHALL BRING THE WIND AND THE WIND SHALL BRING THE RAIN AND THE RAIN SHALL BRING THE FLOODS, AND FLOODS, AND FLOODS, AND THE FLOODS SHALL BRING THE TORRENTS, AND TORRENTS, AND TORRENTS.
SO SHALL THEY BE SAVED LIKE FALLING LEAVES FROM THE MIGHTY OAKS SWEPT BY A HURRICANE IN A GREAT FOREST. ARMS AND LEGS SHALL COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND THERE SHALL BE NO EBB." (You can visit his web page here: http://arthurburt.com)

To me Arthur's departure confirms that something has definitely been set in motion. We can feel the breath, the wind is softly stirring around Wales. Things are moving forward, and anticipation mounts.

Come on Lord!     Come on saints, let's step up the cry,    "Rend the heavens and come down!"

Please remember Arthur's family and many friends in this time of loss, that they know the joy of Heaven's gain,

Dick & Gladys

North Wales again - after too long!

blaenaushackbow.jpgDear Praying Friends:

It's hard to believe that more than a year and a half has slipped since our last visit to Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales. We have wanted to go for a long time and last week we were delighted to be able to make the three hour drive into the northern mountainous region through beautiful country.

Also surprising is that it was five years ago that we were passing through this town when the Lord gave me a vision of a cloud of revival glory hovering over this place. That experience, which I described in a June 2009 update, led to another visit to pray and meet people with whom God spontaneously connected us with.

Knowing that we would be going back up north, I began to read back over some of the things that have happened during these years and was intrigued by the story. Our next two visits are described in the July 2009 updates which you can read for more of an idea.

Our subsequent visits resulted in monthly prayer meetings for revival which still are going on, and the timing enabled us to join in with them. It was great to see old friends and take part in the meeting blaenauslatefence.jpgagain. It was very rewarding to see them faithfully carrying on, and know that there is fruit from their efforts. How wonderful is the truth in 1 Corinthians 15:58 that says, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Another exciting part of this continuing story is that other friends of ours, a spirit-filled minister with his wife and family moved to Blaenau Ffestiniog over a year ago, where he is currently working with six different churches in the region. They have gotten quite involved in the community there and are doing things in conjunction with other groups as well. The time-old pattern of each group of believers in their own little circle is being weakened, and old fences are starting to come down around Wales. Please remember to pray for the growth of a real unity among the believers here.

blaenaus-donkeys.jpgWe spent a few nights there, and had the opportunity to visit our friend Jane who we know from the meetings in Blaenau. She lives on the Llyn Peninsula, about an hour's drive to the west, and hasn't been able to come to the meetings for a while herself. So it was good to spend time together and catch up with her news and encourage her. It was also an opportunity to meet her husband at last and enjoy the fruit of their labors on their property.

blaenaus-dougal.jpgThey both love animals and have adopted a few retired and unwanted donkeys that needed a place to live. Each of these animals has their own hard story, but now they have found a home and a family that loves them. It seems like such a good picture of how we ourselves have been taken in as part of God's own family, and found love and acceptance in The Beloved! (Ephesians 1:6)

We plan to continue visiting North Wales periodically, and are all ears to see what happens next! And not only there, but all over this "Land of Revivals."

May God bless you and your loved ones richly,

Dick & Gladys

No Fear! - The Lord is Our Shepherd...

psalm23vs1.jpgDear Friends and Prayers:

Probably like most of you, we have known the 23rd Psalm since we were small children. In my case, I'm sure I heard it in church from when I was 3 or 4 years old. Then our mother started a small home business in the late 1950's and we would clear off the table after dinner and with water colors and tiny brushes we would paint in the small letters and figures of these illuminated scripture verses by hand. So of course this verse is indelibly imprinted somewhere in my brain cells.

While reading through this Psalm this morning, I was surprised to see something that I don't remember ever having noticed before. I'm sure it has been the topic of sermons and studies, but it was new to me! It really made an impression on me and blessed me, so I just want to pass it along in case you haven't noticed this either.

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. NKJV

angelschargeoverthee.jpgIt was almost like the verses became high-lighted for me, like I've done for you here. You see, the first section mentions the Lord in the third person with pronouns and verbs - "The Lord is..., He makes..., he leads..."
But when we get to the valley of the shadow of death, He is right there with us! David is no longer talking about Him but TO Him! "You are..., Your rod..., You anoint..."

That just struck such a beautiful chord with me! When we are going through difficult times, God's presence is right there with us. Always! Hebrews 13:5 says, "For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'" And Jesus said in John 14:18, "I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

There is no situation in this life, and en route to the life to come through that ominous valley, in which God is not or will not be with us. Nothing can separate us from His love. Now that is an amazing and comforting truth that will sustain us through it all!

May the essence of this marvelous fact be as real and present as your next and every breath!

Our Solid Rock in turbulent times!

ceibrbaytidalpool.jpgDear Praying Friends and Saints:

In the midst of so much tragic violence and political turbulence in the world around us, I found myself greatly ministered to this week by Hannah's prayer in 1 Samuel 2:1-10.

1 And Hannah prayed and said, "My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
2 "No one is holy like the Lord, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.
3 "Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.
4 "The bows of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled are girded with strength.
8 "He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them.
9 "He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. "For by strength no man shall prevail.
10 "The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; From heaven He will thunder against them. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth..."

bananathief.jpgI've also been reading and praying through Jeremiah, and the few chapters around 40 and 41 tell about the fall of Jerusalem and insurrection against Gedaliah. Jeremiah here is describing the violence, political upheaval and treachery - his story has it all. It seems so much like things that are going on today in the Middle East.

Then a friend sent me an article from the NY Times about the rise of this leader Baghdadi of ISIS which I found interesting and thought provoking. And it immediately reminded me of what I had just read in Jeremiah 41. It is the same old story of how corrupted human nature is so blind and self-seeking. Kind of like this squirrel making off with a banana from our bird feeder.

It is as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 1:9, "... there is nothing new under the sun." It would be good to target this man and his cohorts in prayer, that the Lord give them a life-shaking revelation of just who Jesus is, like Paul's Damascus road experience!

Rejoicing in the Lord because He is the rock of our salvation,

Dick & Gladys

Blind woman healed by the light of God's glory!!

FyBhighcross.jpgDear Friends of Wales Awakening:

We want to share this awesome testimony about a miraculous healing of a blind woman that took place last Tuesday at the nearby Ffald-y-Brenin Christian Retreat Centre. We've mentioned this place several times over the years, and so just want to pass this on to you.

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the mass email but this one is incredible. It's hard to believe that we are down to less that one week here.
On Monday we had a blind lady come and visit Ffald-y-Brenin.  She spent two days by the high cross. On Tuesday for the evening chapel, Bryn was leading and he opened it up for healing prayer.  Several people stood for prayer, but the blind woman did not, we were hoping that she would stand. She was sitting beside me, but because  she did not stand I went to pray for someone else, and when I turned back to my seat she was on her knees, so several of us started to pray for her. God gave me an image of Jesus standing over her and his robes of righteousness flowed down onto her face and as she looked up, the light from his robes flowed into her eyes. When she was told this, she wept even more.
To make a long story short she sat up and she was healed. She had been blind for 10 years she could only see shadows and not been able to see her children, her youngest was 5 years old when she went blind. She had a seeing eye dog which she is going to have to give up.  Her entire life has been changed by the amazing Power of God.

Blessings , Love & Prayers
Bryn & Sylvia

gwaunvalley2014.jpgThese are the people from Canada that contacted us last December about coming to pray in Wales for six months. I have mentioned them in the January and April updates which you can read on our web page Updates tab. We spent time with them yesterday and I recorded the whole story when they told it to us. If you'd like to listen to it, just click on this link.

We are so blessed to be even indirectly involved with things like this happening, and look forward to more such stories as the pace of God's activity quickens around this land. We want to encourage you as well to pray and seek the Lord for His goodness to be manifested in the area where you live, and be bold to speak out about Him! And as a friend reminded me this morning, "Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony..." Revelation 12:10-11

Great blessings of joy and Holy Spirit power in Jesus' name,

Dick & Gladys
